Kneeling another Perspective

Why is everybody tripping over kneeling on the National Anthem.   What is kneeling, kneeling symbolizes an expression of reverence and submission it is an act of humbleness and humility not defiance.  Kneeling is actually patriotic something that Trump or the redneck Americans who claim to be Christian know nothing about.  Don’t  we kneel in prayer whether you are Christian or follow Islam. So if we kneel to GOD what’s the big deal about kneeling when the anthem is played.

So what does President Twitter with continual Foot -I-Tis do is spend his time tweeting instead of uniting the country like maybe going to Puerto Rico to survey the damage from Hurricane Maria, instead he berates NFL and NBA players who are doing peaceful protest against police brutality which has been going on since reconstruction of the United States after the Civil War.

History Lesson 101When the founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence it was the first act of political courage against their oppressors. The American flag as we know it did not even exist, as a matter of fact it was more than a century before our country’s anthem was adopted.  Better yet standing to the National Anthem didn’t start till 1918 in response to the United States entering WW1 at a baseball game.  Thomas Jefferson a slave owner from Virginia a founding father that wrote in the United States constitution  “ that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”  Oh I forgot it was OK for them to shout out “Give me Liberty or give me death”.  In addition we were counted as chattel and three fifth's of a person, how dare the Blacks still on the virtual plantation speak up against the injustice here in America against people of color.  The true meaning of the flag is it stands for “Protect and Serve” which our police departments are supposed to do, but so often even with today’s technology and caught on camera of police departments doing wrong they still get off. The players protest has nothing to do with the “protect and Serve” for the military that lays down their lives for this country, only against the segment of police brutality here in Black America.  Throughout history our Black sports figures have used their status  as a platform against social injustice, like John Carlos and Tommie Smith in the 1968 Olympics, or Mu hammed Ali, or Jackie Robinson, or Arthur Ashe, of Jim Brown, Kareem Jabbar , Curt Flood, or today athletes like Serena Williams, or Seimone Augustus, Lebron James, and Collin Kaepernick who got the ball rolling and is now exiled from the NFL because he dared to take a stand against police brutality against Black Men here in America.


Now with our polarizing Mr Twitter constant foot in mouth president.  He has united the players unions in the NFL, NBA, WNBA and also the predominately White MLB players association all recognize a players right for peaceful protest.  If you don’t protest how else to you get change, surely those in power will not give it up without resistance. White America, itsn’t what the American Revolution and the Civil War fought about, they were both violent protests.  But when the virtual plantation slaves of Black America do peaceful protest like MLK we are ostracized and slammed by the establishment.  America we are the laughing stock of the world with our hypocritical self righteous selves, ain’t we supposed to be the Land of the Free. Doesn’t our constitution give us the right to let our voices be heard, dang it’s only kneeling at this point. I expect pandora’s box to open and spread to other arenas in society because of President Foot-I-Tis Twitter…LOL...He done started something now...LOL
